Stephen Clarke


Stephen Clarke was appointed Chief Executive on 1 July 2013. He joined WHSmith in August 2004 as Marketing Director for High Street Retail. In 2006 he was appointed Commercial and Marketing Director and in 2008 became Managing Director for High Street Retail. Stephen joined WHSmith from Argos where he had been Head of Product Marketing since 2001. His career began at the Dixons Group where he carried out a number of store, product and marketing roles.

Chris Galway


Chris is one of the co-founders of the IIA and has worked in the Immigration Industry for over 11 years. Chris has been involved in the Migration Industry for the past 11 years in numerous roles. These have ranged from Education Assessments, through to the invention of specific Insurance Products for Visa Holders and Expats from around the world. As an innovator in the industry, Chris has been a guest speaker at many international events specialising in the subject of global education and mobilisation.

John Marcarian


John Marcarian is a chartered accountant with over 25 years experience. He is the founder of Expatland and CST Tax Advisors. At CST, he provides tax consultancy to clients in more than 50 countries, including global expatriates and businesses moving across borders. John is now resident in Singapore with CST Tax offices worldwide. Based on his knowledge of common expat issues and his own experience as a widely-travelled Aussie expat, John wrote the book ExpatlandTMin 2015. The book considers the challenges faced by the inhabitants of ‘Expatland’, a virtual country where the world’s 244 million expats live. It provides essential, practical advice designed to help them move overseas, and settle quickly.

Trevor Chanter


Immigration New Zealand – Government

Trevor Chanter has more than 25 years’ investment experience having managed equity, fixed income and fund of fund portfolios. He is now responsible for developing awareness of the New Zealand Investor Programme across Europe and assisting potential applicants with the process including investment options. The programme celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019 and has brought over $9bn into the New Zealand economy over that time.

Bryan Nixon


The American School in England

Bryan Nixon is the Head of School at TASIS The American School in England. His career has spanned over 24 years in Northern Ireland, the Bahamas, Germany, and the US. He was Head of School for 10 years in Germany and the US and, since 1999, is an International Baccalaureate workshop leader. Bryan holds a B.A. Honours degree and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Ulster and an Advanced Diploma in Education from Queen’s University in Belfast.

Bruno L’ecuyer


Mr. L’ecuyer is the first chief executive of the Investment Migration Council, the worldwide association of investor immigration and citizenship-by-investment professionals. Bruno leads the Secretariat reporting to the Governing Board and is responsible for all IMC operations. A regular contributor to international publications and conferences in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, he has held positions in London, Paris and Hong Kong. Bruno was previously head at a national financial services association, acting as a bridge between government and industry. He has extensive expertise and experience in the management and expansion of a professional services association. A member of the Governing Board, Bruno acts as its Secretary.

Ms. Alexandra Kenna


C. Savva & Associates Ltd

Alexandra Kenna is a Citizenship and Residency Advisor, with C. Savva & Associates Ltd, and is based in London.

Alexandra advises HNWIs, law firms, family offices, private banks, tax and accounting firms, partners and collaborators from the UK, Former Soviet Union, Middle East and Asia on the Cyprus Investment Programme and the Cyprus Permanent Residency Programme.

Alexandra was raised in St Petersburg, Russia and was educated at St. Petersburg University. She has lived in the UK since 1992.

She frequently delivers presentations on the Cyprus Investment Programme at many international conferences, forums and events around the globe.

She is a native Russian and English speaker.

Tim Thomas



Tim qualified as a Solicitor in 1994, and immediately prior to joining EEF worked for an Employer Association in the security sector. There he was responsible for providing advice on policy and legal issues to a wide range of large, multi-national corporations, delivering specific projects in addition to membership services.  He maintained a strong presence in Brussels, working closely with the relevant employer’s European sectorial organisation and worked closely with a range of Governmental departments, notably the Home Office, successful delivering a series joint programmes with the Association’s members.

Tim is EEF’s Director of Employment and Skills policy, with responsibility for EEF’s engagement with Government and Parliament all areas of employment and migration policy in the UK and the EU. His legal expertise has positioned him as a go-to person for Members of the European Parliament, with a comprehensive network of European and UK legal, political and business contacts and detailed knowledge of the EU’s future regulatory arrangements for mobile workers. He is regularly called upon to address and advise MPs, MEPs and Peers, representing EEF with UK Ministers and a trusted source for the same. He sits on a series of exclusive, influential, governmental advisory groups dealing with the UK’s exit from the EU and its arrangements for EU workers.

The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae

His Excellency The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae GNZM, QSO is the current and 27th New Zealand High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Prior to his appointment, Sir Jerry served as New Zealand’s 20th Governor General. Previously, he has worked at senior levels in the New Zealand public service and military.

Sir Jerry Mateparae received his military education in the UK, Australia and Singapore.  He has a Master of Arts with First Class Honours from the University of Waikato, and was recognised by that University as one of its distinguished alumni in 2009. In May 2011, Sir Jerry received an honorary doctorate from Massey University.  He is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management.

He is married to Lady Janine Elizabeth Mateparae and they have five children.

Lloyd is an experienced communications professional with 20 years of knowledge built in the agency sector.

He has worked with a variety of brands including Greenpeace, Pizza Express, O2, WWF, Mail Online, Virgin Atlantic and Honda as well as a wide range of expat and immigration organisations.

Lloyd launched Liberate Media in 2006 to offer combined PR, social media and content marketing services that drive engagement and sales for brands.

In addition, Lloyd has extensive experience of running international communications campaigns across Europe, The Middle East, Africa, North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
